ABOUT US
Our young group, led by Dr. Carlos Antón-Solanas, was formed in 2022 and is driven by a passion for pushing the boundaries of knowledge in the field of experimental quantum photonics. We are based at the Dep. of Physics of Materials in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and affiliated to the Instituto Nicolás Cabrera (INC) and the Condensed Matter Physics Center (IFIMAC).
THE TEAM
I am a researcher specialised in experimental quantum optics and quantum materials. I finished my PhD in 2015, under the supervision of Prof. Viña, on III-V semiconductor exciton-polaritons. As a postdoc (IF Marie-Curie 2016-18), I was working in the group of Prof. Senellart between 2015-2019 on quantum optics with semiconductor QDs. Then, I moved to the group of Prof. Schneider, first in Würzburg (2020), and finally in Oldenburg, where I participated to the creation of the AG Quantenmaterialien. During this period, I worked on nonlinear & quantum photonics with different 2D materials. Since 2022, I lead the QOSS experimental team at the UAM.
Postdoc (since May 2023)
Earned his PhD in 2014 from UAM, focusing on exciton-polariton in III-V semiconductor microcavities. He then explored optical properties of TMDC materials under high magnetic fields at NTU, Singapore, and furthered his research on exciton hybridization in TMDC at Chalmers University, Sweden. In 2018, he joined Eduardo Lee's group at UAM to delve into electronic transport in semiconductor nanodevices. Currently working since May 2023, Jorge is investigating the strong coupling between excitons in perovskites and photonic resonators, in collaboration with the group of Ferry Prins.
