Do your PhD in experimental quantum optics with us
We are looking for outstanding, motivated students to start a PhD on quantum light from solid-state emitters: cavity QED with 2D materials, single-photon sources and quantum communication. If your average grade is 9.0/10 or higher (Spanish scale; for degrees from abroad, the official grade equivalence of the Spanish Ministry of Universities), write to carlos.anton [at] uam.es with your CV and academic transcript. FPU
Four-year predoctoral contract of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. Selection weighs heavily on the average grade of the academic record. The 2025 call was open from 16 January to 27 February 2026; the next one is expected around the same time of year — contact us well before it opens.

Fellowships covering salary, research costs and doctoral fees, plus a training programme.
